In the mid-1960's this sleepy, citrus producing hub city only knew Mickey Mouse from television cartoons. But he knew Orlando and was busy running around the area buying up all the citrus groves and raw land. Today, the mouse owns a castle there and much of the land on the outskirts. Disney World made Orlando and precipitated the tremendous growth for miles and miles around. Today's visitors see a landscape much different from that presented to the tourists of yesteryear.
