Ft. Myers Beach Rentals

Myers Beach (Estero Island) is long and narrow, there is a great deal of beachfront and no great distances to get to it. In fact, from almost  any location you can easily walk to the beach. For those interested in spending a day at the beach in more natural surrounds, try Lover's Key State Park (next island south of Fort Myers Beach) or Bowditch Point at the north tip of Estero Island (beach pictures here). While Lover's Key is the larger by far of the two both have good, natural beaches and hiking trails. 

At Lover's Key you can walk miles of wind-swept beaches and follow trails through trees and mangroves. There are also kayak and canoe rentals available to investigate the back waters and estuaries. There is a large number of waterfowl in the area as well as fiddler crabs, tortoises and sea turtles to spot. Many marine species can be viewed in the surrounding waters including porpoises, jumping mullet and sheepshead. Bring your prepared lunch or cook it on the grill by the many picnic tables placed throughout the park. If your fishing luck holds, you may be eating the catch of the day!

Bowditch Point is a smaller regional ECO park. It also fronts the Gulf of Mexico and winds around to the bayside. Many small identification markers have been placed to identify plant species and provide information. This area is a tortoise habitat and you'll easily find them browsing on the vegetation along the walking/hiking trails. Here you can eat lunch either brought from home or purchased at the park's concession stand. Restroom facilities are present
