Ft Myers Beach is one of Florida's barrier islands and has the world famous Sanibel Island to the North and the quiet Bonita Beach to the South. While Ft Meyers Beach has plenty of dining and shopping areas, it's a short drive to the mainland for some heavy duty spending. Take a look at some pictures, here.
Ft Meyers Beach is located on Estero Island. In fact, locally, the entire island is known as Ft Myers Beach. It has two great public access beaches at parks on the island and a state park just south on Lover's Key. You won't have to travel to the parks to see the ocean though, as there are beach access points on many of the short streets that run to the beach - including limited parking availability!
Incidentally, Fort, Ft., Ft and Myer, Myers or Meyers all refer to the same great place.
