virtually all pet friendly rentals require
that you discuss the keeping of pets at the rental. Usually a "pet
deposit" for damages will apply and sometimes an extra cost upping the
rates. Be aware also that many townships ban pets on the beach and/or have
strict waste pick-up rules with accompanying fines.
Smoking
is little tolerated at most Florida beach rentals. Longer stays can entice one
to break the rules and smoke inside but remember that security deposits are at
risk! Hurricanes and adverse conditions, like Red Tide or excessive seaweed left
on the beach, can affect the quality of a beach vacation. Negative perceptions
of property fitness and neighborhood locations cause grievous aggravations for
some renters. In case these situations may affect you, it's always good to check
the refund policy of the rental before committing. Parking is not normally a
problem with Florida beach rentals but many communities have ordinances
restricting camper and boat parking outside. If you're towing, check before you
go.

Beachfront Condo Rentals
If
you don't need the more intimate feelings inspired by a Florida beach rental,

rise, multi-story beachfront condos that allow a bird's eye view out over the
Atlantic Ocean or Gulf of Mexico to more cozy one or two story condos on
secluded beaches. Many Florida beachfront
condo rentals are in gated, secure communities where you can stroll manicured
grounds in the evenings or view ocean sunrises and sunsets in the pleasant
company of others in enhanced, common areas. Some even provide access to the
many amenities of the condominium complex which might include pools, exercise
rooms and golf. While all this might make it sound like a resort, it is
important to check thoroughly which extras you may have access to and at what
possible cost because while you may rent the owner's unit, the condo association
may prohibit guest use of many or all facilities. Parking at some condos can
also be a problem, particularly for more than one vehicle or a towed camper or
boat. If space is a consideration, be sure to ask for the square footage of the
condo; the number of bedrooms will not give a good approximation of size.
